humble beginnings or whateva

me and twigs became friends in november 2019 but we knew each other months prior… our beginnings were on ducktales 2017 video editing instagram (we are autistic if you couldn’t tell) and we were kinda-sorta rivals. both of us were mutually seething because we wouldn’t follow each other first and i was envious of how well her edits did– and this started as early as march 2019. eventually, we were brought together via a ducktales christmas shipping mep i hosted (she liked dondaisy and i liked dellumbra), but even then we still thought we hated each other (at least we finally became mutuals though!) this is where it all began….

ok i might get the order of things wrong here… please forgive me if i do… 2020 was when our best friend-ism truly formed. we roleplayed a drakepad wedding on discord for some reason (i was launchpad and she was drake…) and this was when we called for the first time (i THINK…). and then with our other friend huey (shoutout huey) we read ducktales wattpad fics (shoutout magica’s stick) and even wrote our own which you can still find here). we were truly connecting over our funniness and i remember nearly losing my voice on these calls because of how hard i laughed. also the calls lasted for so long (6-8 hours) and this was BEFORE quarantine.

eggwars

i’m pretty sure we started playing minecraft together before quarantine (i know we at least played the ducktales map) but during quarantine, eggwars was our bread and butter. eggwars is like bedwars but eggs are protected instead of beds and it's on cubecraft. we played it exclusively on bedrock and we sometimes played it with our other friends (shoutout huey and star) but no matter what we always had specific roles. she was the breadwinner (went to other teams to get their eggs, actually participated in pvp) while i was the housewife (stayed and tended to the egg by protecting it with obsidian and occasional shitty pvp). this dynamic really worked out for us and we have won many games (hashtag pro gamers). also sometimes we would match skins but from what i remember she would be ant man while i was della duck

the more we interacted during quarantine, the more i felt like our friendship was akin to a really close siblingship above anything else. our dynamic is seriously a reflection of donald and della!!!! twigs is more resistant to change and is more careful when making decisions while i can’t stand things staying the same and make decisions on the whim. we’re still both really similar in the fact that we’re pretty anxious people and also. autistic. HAHAHA. also if you watch donald and della bickering…. that’s pretty resemblant to our conversations. she would also take care of my children if i got stranded on the moon because of anxiety over making a good impression on my children, thanks twigs!

post quarantine

after ducktales ended, we found new interests and none of them have been ones we have in common (…yet), but we’ve continued to talk about ducktales and our new interests!!!!! especially in our server “ant-oman num” and its sequel by the same name. the first server was created feb 27, 2021 and the second was created nov 18, 2024. both have quite the amount of general chats because we’re so CHATTY!!! i love watching whatever she gets into with her because she’s so passionate about the medias and characters she gets attached to and it’s so fun and wonderful to connect to her through them!!! hmm i’ve watched some pokemon, winx, amatw (all movies), fantastic beasts, legally blonde (the musical and the movie)…. and i love them because she loves them and that makes me happy!!! we also continue to talk about our personal lives a lot and she’s probably the person i confide in the most!! she’s so clearheaded and nice (puts up with hearing a LOT of annoying bumps i face) and also SUPERRRR funny. she’s probably the funniest person i know and can pull it off without making sexual jokes (such a rarity…). she evens me out and she’s such a wonderful person and i’m feeling all warm and sentimental typing this BAHHH!!!!!!!! she’s literally my sister. we also continue to play minecraft, animal jam, and other silly games (webkinz...)

we met when you were 14 and now you’re 20– aka not a teenager anymore. dude. time flies and i’m SOSOSOSO HAPPY THAT I GOT TO GROW UP WITH YOU!!!! YOU DON’T UNDERSTAND!!! i genuinely don’t know where i’d be without you, you make me so happy and every time we do something (even if it’s just as mundane as talking about school) it energizes me. i can’t believe you’ve stuck with me as long as you have… you’re so smart and talented and you’re going to go on to do great things with your life (TRUST YOU’LL GET AN INTERNSHIP SOON!!!) and i can’t wait to be there for future milestones. i love you so so so much and we’re seriously platonic soulmates. thank you for being my best friend, and hopefully our fates will align for us to meet in person like the universe intended.
